Gwendolyn Mary Clark, age 71, of Columbia City,IN passed away at 2:09 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital of IN, Fort Wayne. Born on November 11, 1937 in Huntington, IN she was the daughter of Andrew Robert and Cornelia Elizabeth (Bauer) Johnson. Raised in Washington Township, Whitley County, she has lived in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, since her marriage. She graduated from Washington Center High School with the Class of 1955. On June 23, 1956, she married Ralph T. Clark at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. A housewife and homemaker, she volunteered at Renaissance Village Nursing Home, Dunfee, and she was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Nix Settlement, Harmony Club, and the Rosary Society at the Church. She held many offices in both clubs. She was also a member of the Bowling League in Columbia City.Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Kraig) Schlosser of Columbia City, IN; 3 sons, Bradley (Joleen) Clark, Brett Clark and Brian Clark all of Columbia City, IN; 1 brother, Galen Johnnie (Pat) Johnson of Columbia City, IN; 8 grandchildren, Anna Clark of Fort Wayne, Eric and Austin Clark of Columbia City, Colleen (Joe) Hoag of Columbia City, Danielle (Tim) Cook of Fort Wayne, Rachel Zickgraf of Columbia City, Andrew Clark of Columbia City and Alyssa Clark of Auburn; 1 great-grandchild, Annabell Hoag of Columbia City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Clark on May 2, 2008 and a nephew, Stanley A. Johnson.Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 with a Prayer Vigil Service to begin at 5:30 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Sarrazine officiating. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Clark for Masses at St. Catherine's Catholic Church or to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
