HARRY JAMES "JIMMY" DAILEY

July 4, 1943 — April 1, 2012

Harry James "Jimmy" Dailey, age 68, of Columbia City, IN died at 9:28 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born July 4, 1943, in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of Harry E. and Mildred L. (Pelkey) Gill-Dailey.

He graduated from Central High School, Fort Wayne with the Class of 1962. After graduation, he served in the Army National Guard of Indiana as a reserve. He moved from Fort Wayne to Whitley County in 1974. He worked for Penn Central/Conrail Railroad for 18 years; Thomson Auto Sales, Columbia City for 20 years; The Dock, Columbia City for 9 years; and currently was employed as a security guard at SDI for the past 2 years.

Survivors include his brother, Kenneth A. (Bonnie) Miller of Hudson; 10 nephews and nieces including, Mike, Terry, Scott Dailey, Joni Fry, Brenda Hinsch, Carolyn Whitehead, Tim, Tom and Suzanne Miller and Sally Hamilton; several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, D. Joan Pretorius and brother, Tom Dailey.

Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Dailey to Parkview Coronary Care Unit. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
