Helen AnnArter, age 93, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Parkview Oaks, Columbia City.Born on February 3, 1920 in Zanesville, OH, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Zuglevich) Rodonsky.
On August 9, 1949 she married John A. Arter in Zanesville, OH and they moved to New Haven, IN in 1965. In 1965 she started working for Bennett's Tailoring Shop in New Haven and worked there for 11 years. In 1974 her family moved to Whitley Country where she began working at Whitley County Memorial Hospital in Columbia City until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her sons, John M. (Leisa) Arter of Pierceton, David G. (Kym) Arter of Melbourne, FL and James D. (Brenda) Arter of Fort Wayne; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1998; brothers, John, Michael and Vincent Rodonsky; sister, Anna Noland; and a 3 month old granddaughter, Jamie Ann Arter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.Funeral services begin at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Rd, Zanesville, OH.
