Isabelle J. Fuller

May 17, 1930 — November 12, 2016

With a life that spanned times of war and times of peace, times of plenty and times of want, Isabelle Jane Fuller was a blessing to everyone she met. Life was not always easy for her, but she faced whatever came her way with both grace and courage that were to be admired. Jane was a loving wife and mother, but she just may have argued that nothing was better than becoming a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. With faith as a cornerstone in her life, she was a woman of true beauty. Life will never be the same without Jane here, but she leaves behind a timeless legacy that her loved ones will proudly carry on in her footsteps.

With the dawn of the 1930s, Americans were bracing for times of great trial since our nation was deeply entrenched in the harsh days of the Great Depression. Jobs were hard to come by, the unemployment rate was soaring, and there were few who didnt feel the strain. Despite the trials around them, James and Zella (Betzner) Wolfe were pleased to announce the birth of the baby girl they named Isabelle Jane on May 17, 1930. She was the second child in her family, and she was raised in the family home around rural Whitley County and in Columbia City. In many ways, Jane was a typical young girl of her generation. She enjoyed things like roller skating, dancing, and singing. A student at local schools, Isabelle excelled in her studies as she graduated second in her class at Coesse School in 1948.

Not to be forgotten during Janes years as a young woman was her introduction to the young man who stole her heart. His name was Paul Martin Bremer, and they met through a friend. Sparks flew right from the start, and the couple soon found themselves deeply in love. With a desire to spend the rest of their lives together Jane and Paul were married on September 4, 1948, at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Columbia City. They later would buy a farm in Union Township of Whitley County and this is where they raised their three daughters, Judith, Mary, and Catherine, and two sons, Richard and David.

While Paul worked full time on top of being a farmer, Jane worked hard in the home, in the fields, and tending to the livestock. She milked cows and taught her children at a young age to do chores around the farm and milk cows as well. When she was out in the barns, it was not uncommon to see that Jane had her babies out in barn in their high chair! Saturday night was usually family night when they all went into town to buy a pop or watch a movie. On Sundays they often went out for a drive to get ice cream after going to church and then completing their chores. These were among the simple things in life that meant the world to Jane. On January 19, 1973, she was deeply saddened with her husbands death.

Life on the farm just wasnt the same for Jane after Pauls death. She became involved in a parents group in Warsaw with her daughter where she made some new friends. It was through a friend that she met a special friend named Claude Fuller. They were later married on June 26, 1976, and Jane moved from the farm to Warsaw. There, she worked for the Warsaw Schools part-time. She became instrumental in establishing St. Peters Lutheran Church in Warsaw, and she enjoyed going to her Bible study group there. She continued to treasure time spent with her family. Jane was there to support her grandchildren in whatever they were doing and they even enjoyed doing the simple things together as she was known for singing and dancing with them. Jane and Claude enjoyed traveling around the country and visiting family and friends. Their travels took them out West, to Branson, Missouri, and to Tennessee, Florida, and the Carolinas.

Unfortunately, Jane became widowed a second time when Claude passed away on June 26, 2002. Although it was difficult for her to be alone, she continued to delight in her family and make the most of the days she was given. Jane also continued traveling with her brother and sister-in-law, and when her sister-in-law became widowed the two women traveled around together. Through these experiences they became even closer. As someone who enjoyed being active, Jane was on the go for as long as she was able. Some of her favorite things were going out to eat, shopping, and seeing plays.

All who knew Isabelle Jane Fuller would agree that she was truly beautiful on the inside and out. Gracious and kind, she was the sort of person who was willing to help others in any way. Although she was never overbearing or boisterous in her faith, it was easy to see that Janes faith was a cornerstone. Deeply loved, she will be forever missed.
