Jacqueline S. Lantz

Jacqueline S. Lantz, age 59, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at 8:15 pm on Friday July 7, 2023.  Born on November 21, 1963, in Huntington, she was the daughter of Arnold “Butch” and Gloria “Susie” (Salter) Herrick.

Jacqueline attended Huntington North High School and graduated with the Class of 1982.  On November 20, 1986, she married Mark Lantz in Huntington.  She worked for many years at Scott’s Grocery and then at Kroger in the bakery and later non-foods department.

Jacqueline was a former member of New Hope Wesleyan Church.  She enjoyed playing euchre, spades, and loved fishing or anything outdoors in her free time.  Jacqueline was also an avid Indianapolis Colts football fan.

Survivors include her children Kattie (Randy Garrett) Lantz and Tadd (Emily) Lantz, both of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter Tiffany (Walt) Lyons of Tampa, FL; grandchildren Alyvia Garrett, Asher Lantz, Jason Lyons, and Josh Lyons; siblings April (Karl) Morris of Fort Wayne, Tony Chapin, Luke Herrick, Todd Herrick, and Seth Herrick, all of Huntington; stepfather Don Chapin of Huntington; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Arnold “Butch” Herrick, mother Gloria “Susie” Chapin, husband Mark Lantz, and grandson Jaxon Lantz.

Funeral services for Jacqueline will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday July 12, 2023, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling from 11:00-1:00 prior to service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jacqueline may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
