James R. "JJ" Jackson, 55, of Lena, MS passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Born on May 14, 1959 in Columbia City, IN, he was the son of James R. Jackson, Sr. and Sandra S.(Wuertley) Harter.
He attended Whitko High School. Not liking to live in one area for a long time, JJ would travel around and had lived in Indiana, Colorado, Arizona and most recently in Mississippi since 2006. He had been working on a farm in Lena. He was a very independent person, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle and watching the Steelers play.
He is survived by his daughters, Jazmen Jackson of Claypool, IN and Harley June Jackson; step- children, Josh and Shayne Keel and Kristal Sims; brothers, Bazil Jackson of Albion, IN; Scott Hollon of AZ; Rick Jackson of AR; sister, Debra Jackson of KS, Kimberly Thompson of AZ, Lorie Schroeder of AZ; and numerous grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Memorial gifts may be given in JJs memory towards his final funeral expenses I.C.O. DeMoney-Grimes. Please visit
