Jane Patton

Jane Patton, 64, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at her home. Born July 5, 1958 in Augusta, Georgia, she was the daughter of David E. and Betty L. (Irwin) Basinger.

With her father serving in the U.S. Army, she and her family moved to Germany when she was 6 weeks old and moved many times as she grew up, attending different schools each year.She graduated from Pandora Gilboa High School in Pandora, Ohio with the Class of 1976. She attended Cosmology School and her Associate's Degree from Ivy Tech College for Nursing in 1989. Jane worked as a nurse for 34 years. She was a member of The Warehouse where she attended church in Columbia City.

Jane is survived by her daughters, April (Matt) Frye and DeAnna  Harris; son, Jeremy Patton; mother, Betty L. Basinger; sister, Theresa Basinger; brother, Justin (Sharon) Basinger; 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father in 2020, David Basinger.

Visitation will be 12-4 pm Sunday at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Hank Workman officiating. Burial will follow at South Park (Annex) Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in memory to The Forklift.
