Janice Dee Vandersaul, age 71, of Columbia City, Ind., died at 12:56 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Parkview Whitley Hospital Emergency Room.Born on February 12, 1939, she was the daughter of Samuel Richard "Dick" and Lois (Hannum) Lundy.
She was a graduate of North Webster High School with the Class of 1958.For 10 years she worked as a bookkeeper at Dick's TV, but the job she loved the most was that of wife and mother to her 5 children.Born in Switz City, Ind. and raised in North Webster, Ind. she moved to her present home in Whitley County in 1958.She was a long time member of the Big Lake Church of God, where she served on many church committees.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry S. Vandersaul; sons, Jeff Vandersaul of Churubusco, Jody (Jan) Vandersaul of St. Louis, MO, daughter, Janette (Greg) Sauers of Columbia City, son, Jamie (Tina) Vandersaul of Columbia City, and daughter, Jerilyn Simpson of Warsaw.Grandchildren, Samuel, Abigail, Ethan, Eli and Daniel Vandersaul all of St. Louis, MO, Janica (Kevin) Eames, Evan Sauers, Mallory, Garrett and Maggie Vandersaul all of Columbia City, and Connor Steffe of Warsaw; brothers, Samuel (Mary Jo) Lundy, Jr. and Jan (Cindy) Lundy, sister Jenilee (Dave) Anderson all of North Webster, Ind., and brother, Jay (Joan) Lundy of Lake Placid, FL.She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant grandson, Justin Hammel.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2-6 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, Ind. Funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Paul Dreger and Phil Blake officiating.Burial will follow at Eberhard Cemetery, Columbia City, Ind.Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Vandersaul to the Big Lake Church of God Womens Ministry fund.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
