John Felger

November 3, 1958 — September 23, 2018

John Felger, 59, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Howard and Fay (Dafforn) Felger.

He graduated from Carroll High School with the Class of 1977. He married Amy Yoder at Grabill Missionary Church. He was a lifelong farmer in Northwest Allen County, farming more than 360 acres including his family's 160 year old farm. He also owned his own produce business and field drainage business. John was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for Arcola. He attended The Chapel and was a former officer for the Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District.

John's family would like to thank Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Grabill Missionary Church, The Chapel, other churches and the community for all the prayers and support they have received.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Amy Felger; daughter, Kayla (Isaac) Wolf; mother, Fay Felger; siblings, Linda (Ken) Kleber, Bill (Lisa) Felger and Dawn (Ed) Yoder; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard; and his brother, Doyle Felger.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Visitation is 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial at Eel River Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his family to go to various organizations that John donated to.
