John Joseph Lesniewski, age 47, of Lafayette and formerly of Columbia City passed away at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Columbia City. Born on March 12, 1962 in Hammond, IN, he was the son of Casimir and Lucille (Kosiba) Lesniewski.He lived most of his life in Indiana including Hammond, Valparaiso, Columbia City for 2 years prior to moving to Omaha, NE. He graduated from George Rogers Clark High School, Hammond with the Class of 1981 and Devery Institution of Technology with the Class of 1984. He loved his children, to drum, electronics, computers, wood working, Beatles music, loved the outdoors and to BBQ, pursuit of creating the perfect pizza, loved Native American culture and music in general.Survivors include his daughter, Brittany Elizabeth (Rob) Troup of West Lafayette; 2 sons, John Vincent Casimir Lesniewski and Logan Anthony Lesniewski both of Valparaiso; 4 sisters, Christine (Thomas) Robinson of Bellvue, NE, Catherine Ann Lesniewski of Honolulu, HI, Anna Marie (Brian) Flott of Yelma, WA and Jenniffer Jeneen (Gary) Pierce of Valparaiso; 16 nieces and nephews; 1 grand niece; 1 grand nephew; brother-in-law, Robert Joseph Hiss of Columbia City; close friends, Erika (Jeff) Persons. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Margaret Hiss.Visitation is Monday, November 30, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN.
