Juergen E Mauger

Juergen Eckert Mauger, age 58, of Huntington, IN, passed away at 2:14 pm on Sunday May 15, 2022, at his residence.  Born on December 26, 1963, in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of Roger and Elizabeth (Hartmann) Mauger.

Juergen attended South Side High School and graduated with the Class of 1982.  He was a chicken farmer and also worked for Alfe Heat Treating Inc., Isolatek International, and General Motors throughout his working career.

On January 3, 1986, he married Sharon Harber at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Arcola.

Juergen enjoyed fishing with his kids and cousin Tom, painting vehicles, the Pittsburg Steelers, and listening to Hank Williams Jr. and Waylon Jennings music.

Survivors include his loving wife Sharon Mauger of Huntington; children Christopher (Carrie Brubaker) Mauger of Fort Wayne, Jeremiah Mauger, Heidi Mauger, and Justin Mauger, all of Huntington; grandchildren Ava, Clayton, and Gabriel Mauger; parents Roger (Carol) Mauger of Fort Wayne; brother Joachim Mauger of Prescott Valley, AZ; cousins Tom Mauger of Fort Wayne and Dea Mauger of Huntington; uncles Jay (Judith) Mauger of South Carolina and Jack (Judy) Mauger of Warren; aunt Linda (Kenny) Poulon of Warren; and several additional cousins

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Branson and Ollie Mauger and maternal grandparents Opa and Oma Hartmann, uncles Richard and Bob Mauger, and aunt Judy Hartzler.

Friends may call on Thursday May 19, 2022, from 10:00-2:00 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Funeral services for Juergen will be held at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.

Memorial contributions in memory of Juergen may be made to American Diabetes Association or to the family for his grandchildren’s education.
