Julie Luann Brommer

April 24, 1973 — June 29, 2022

Julie Luann Brommer, 49, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at her home with family by her side. Born April 24, 1973 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Herbert and Gloria (Heinfeld) Pelfrey.

She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1991 and attended International Business College for Medical Assistant. On October 24, 1992, Julie married Randy J. Brommer, and they eventually would build their home next to her parents' farm. Julie had worked in South Whitley and Fort Wayne in doctor's offices for a brief time, then in the Pharmacy at the Columbia City Walmart before becoming a mother. After the birth of their second child, Julie worked at the Oak Grove Daycare. For over 25 years, she then operated a home daycare and sold designer fragrances and candles.

Strong, supportive, compassionate, and loving are just a few ways to describe Julie. She loved her family, adored her beautiful granddaughter, and was a proud support of her husband and son-in-law's dirt track race team, B & B Racing. Julie was a family advocate for Indiana Donor Network and leader of The Compassionate Friends of Columbia City. She was a former member of Tri Kappa and the Whitley County Homemakers Club. Julie loved taking vacations with her family, being on the beach wearing her flip flops in the sand, and visiting Disney World. She also loved shopping and Christmas.

Julie is survived by her loving husband and caregiver over the past 8 years, Randy Brommer; daughter and son-in-law, Lyndsey and Jacob Beard; granddaughter, Berkleigh; mother, Gloria Pelfrey; sister and brother-in-law, Janell and Steve Wood; mother-in-law, Shirley Brommer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steven M. and Stephanie Brommer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Brian Brazel and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Pelfrey; son, Cody Austin Brommer, both in 2015; and father-in-law, Steven K. Brommer.
