KENNETH DALE HYSER, Sr.

Kenneth Dale Hyser, Sr., age 69, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 8:38 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, IN. Born in Roanoke, IN on March 31, 1939 he was the son of Robert Russell and Wilma (Love) Hyser.As a young boy, he attended Lafayette Central School, in Roanoke, IN and he later attended Jefferson Center High School, Whitley County, IN. From April 12, 1956 through November 15, 1956, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. His first marriage was to Ruth Ann Colpetzer. On June 11, 1969, he married Annie Alice Stephens in Parisburg, WV. A Whitley County resident for most of his life, he worked as Director of Maintenance for Whitley County Memorial Hospital, currently Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City for twelve years, International Harvester, Fort Wayne, IN for ten years, and he retired from Country Mark Co-op after ten years of service. He was a member of the Columbia City Eagles Lodge #1906. He enjoyed collecting glassware, paper weights, toy sewing machines, and woodworking.Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Alice Hyser of Pierceton; sons, Terry Dale Hyser of Columbia City, Kenny (Donna) Hyser, Jr. and Timothy Hyser both of Columbia City, Rodney Hyser of Collins, Robert Allen (Tem) Schrader of Olympia, WA, Christopher (Marsha) Schrader of Pierceton; daughters, Teresa Gale (Richard) Earhart of Fort Wayne, Donna (Paul) Weinberg of Columbia City and Dorthea (Jeff) Arnold of South Whitley; sister-in-law, Nancy Love of Columbia City; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Hyser of Columbia City; sisters, Beverly (Larry) Brandom and Barbara (Steve) Lalone both of Columbia City and LeAnna (John) Clevenger of Fort Wayne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brian Lee Hyser and Katie Jolynn Hyser, brother, Donald Love and daughter-in-law, Michelle Hyser.To honor Mr. Hysers request, there will be no visitation. Graveside service is Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Boonville Cemetery, 950 W 150 S., Larwill, IN (Whitley County) with Pastor James Clifford of Laud Christian Church officiating. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Whitley County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be given in Mr. Hysers memory to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 258. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held after the service at the American Legion Hall in Pierceton.
