Larry L. Bennett

Larry L. Bennett, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital. Born October 5, 1939 in Whitley County, he was the son of Russel E. and Fairy M. (Bollinger) Bennett.

In 1951, he and his family moved from Washington Township to Ft. Wayne. He went on to graduate from Central High School with the Class of 1958. Larry had been a disc jockey with WKJG and bank courier in Ft. Wayne. He had been a member of the Church of the Brethren and it brought him joy playing the piano and singing for the church. He enjoyed watching comedies and The Andy Griffith show.

Survivors include his brother, Wayne (Margie) Bennett, of Columbia City; niece, Shirley (Jim) Deermer; nephews, Gregory (Esther) Bennett and Stephen Bennett; three great-nieces and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rudolph Bennett.

Visitation is 1 to 4:45 p.m. , Sunday, August 27, 2017 DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with his funeral service starting at 5 p.m. Pastor Dennis Beckner will be officiating.
