Larry Lee Coble, 76, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home. Born March 6, 1940 in Wabash County, he was the oldest child of Morris E. and Lucille H. (Albright) Coble.
He grew up in the South Whitley area until he was in middle school and his parents moved to a farm near Bippus. During his junior year at Bippus High School, Larry started dating Margie Ann Wohlford and after graduating, he married his high school sweet heart on July 12, 1958. He was a farmer and also owned Coble Asphalt. As the family grew larger, they all worked together both on the farm and at the family business. Larry enjoyed watching NASCAR races and rooting on Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed watching RFD TV, the farm shows and the Gaithers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Margie Coble; children, Sally Barker, of North Manchester, Roger Coble, of South Whitley, Rex (Robyn) Coble of Syracuse and Kathy (Kevin) Ray of Columbia City; sister, Linda Coble; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Hippensteel.
Inaccordance with Larrys wishes, a private burial took place at South Whitley Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to either Riley Childrens Foundation or the American Cancer Association. Visit
