September 27, 1947 — February 12, 2009

Larry Lee Line, age 61, of Columbia City, IN passed away suddenly Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his residence. Born on September 27, 1947 in Wolf Lake, IN he was the son of Kenneth L. and Naomi E. (Mitchell) Line.A lifetime resident of Whitley County he graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1967 until 1969 where he served in the Vietnam War. He worked at Precision Plastics, Fiber Form, and Whitley County Hospital before beginning a 32 year career as a machinist with Dana Weatherhead/C.F. Gomma where he retired from in 2003. After his retirement he worked part-time at CITGO and Pak-A-Sak in Columbia City.He was a member of the South Whitley AMVETS and enjoyed golf, was an avid card player and was known for his outdoor culinary skills.Survivors include his son, Eric Line of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Jessica (Brant Huntley) Line of Columbia City, IN; 2 sisters, Lana (John) Pratt and Leatha Brown both of Warsaw, IN; step-father, Martin Trier of Columbia City, IN; former spouse, Joyce Foxy Line of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Mark Trier of Columbia City, IN; step-brothers Steve (Laura) Trier of Congress, AZ and Terry Trier of Zeeland, MI; 2 step-sisters, Linda (Robert) Lefever of Churubusco, IN and Becky (Monty) Wolfe of Lake Placid, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Mann officiating. Graveside service will follow at St. Peter's German Lutheran Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Whitley County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial bequests may be given in Mr. Lines memory to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
