Larry V Reynolds Sr., 83, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at Parkview Whitley Hospital with family by his side. Born June 27, 1938 in Muncie, he was the son of Lloyd V. and Verna (Lounsbury) Reynolds.
Growing up in Delaware County, Larry attended school at Selma Elementary; Blaine Junior High where he met the love of his life; and then Yorktown High School. On July 29, 1957, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Dodd. Larry also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he learned to drive any vehicle they had from a tank to a semi-truck. Larry and Dorothy would eventually move to Churubusco and then Columbia City as their children were growing up. Larry worked for Fab Weld Inc. and retired from Dana in the early 2000's. One to keep busy, Larry drove for Whitley County Transit, and Hoosier RV, and Gateway RV Transport after retirement. He really enjoyed driving and it gave him an excuse to be out and about.
Larry was a hard worker and a proud American. He was strong willed with a joking and ornery personality. Larry enjoyed fishing, being out in his workshop, building models and RC airplanes, and loved Corvette cars, and watching NASCAR.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Dorothy Reynolds; daughters, Verna (Chad) Wise and Shayla Reynolds; son, Larry (Tanya) Reynolds, Jr; son-in-law, Jerry Lloyd; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter in 2020, Vickie Lloyd; son in 2018, Mark Reynolds; and an infant grandson in 1985, Jordy Reynolds.
