Linda Lou Brown, age 82, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 4:58 pm on Wednesday March 13, 2024, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne, with her son Chris, daughter Tiffany, and “sister” Cynda by her side. Born on September 26, 1941, in Fort Wayne, IN, she was the daughter of Robert Jack and Evelyn M. (Elder) Archbold.
Linda attended Ossian High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. She also earned her business degree from International Business College in 1961. Linda worked at International Harvester and General Electric for several years before working at Citizens National Bank, now Star Financial Bank, Columbia City, until she retired.
Linda was an avid lover of all animals, and shared that with her children from a young age. She was most known for her two donkeys, Zeke and Zach, on Cidermill Road. Linda was very family oriented and always inclusive of all her extended family as well.
Survivors include her children Chris (Diana) Mast of Tampa, FL, Tiffany Friend and Mitchel Brown, both of Columbia City; grandchildren Christopher Mickey, Amanda (Codie) Morning, Ganon Friend, Tanner Friend, Lanston Friend, Brittany Schatzer, and Jessica Mazella; great-grandchildren Braxtynn Morning and Benton Flaherty.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Evelyn Archbold, husband Duane Brown, and brother Steve Archbold.
Friends may call on Thursday March 28, 2024, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow in South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City.
Memorial contributions in memory of Linda may be made to the donor’s choice.
