LLOYD WARNER GRIM

March 5, 1938 — November 29, 2008

Lloyd Warner Grim, age 70, passed away at 9:37 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at his residence. Born on March 5, 1938 in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of William and Mildred (McClure) Grim.Raised in Fort Wayne, IN, he attended Huntertown High School, Huntertown, IN. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Since 1961, he has lived at Tri-Lakes, Whitley County, IN. On June 24, 1961 he married Janice Sue Bauermeister in Fort Wayne, IN. For many years, he worked as a diesel mechanic for Columbia City Freight Lines. He also worked in the light department for Columbia City Municipal Utilities and until April 27, 2006, he was an escort for trailer deliveries for Whitley Trailer Sales, South Whitley, IN. His memberships included the American Bowling Conference where his all time game high was 299 points, the Columbia City Moose Lodge where he was Past Governor two different times in the past 15 years, he also was involved in the Crooked Lake Golf Course Tuesday and Wednesday Leagues and the Moose Sunday League. Survivors include his wife, Janice Sue Grim of Columbia City, IN; sons, Steven (Sherri) W. Grim and Michael J. Grim both of Columbia City; daughters, Janene A. (Derek) Eggers of Wolcottville, IN and Marla Luckadoo of Fort Wayne, IN; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Grim of Fort Wayne, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Carl Grim.Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service immediately following visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Gene Rohrer of Oak Grove United Methodist Church will officiate. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Grim to the Whitley County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
