Lois Jeanette Johnson, age 84, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Columbia City passed away at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Canterbury Health and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.Born on October 21, 1926 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Robert Franklin and Tacy Berniece (Hill) Baker.
She graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1945 living in Ormas and Columbia City areas, moving to Fort Wayne in 1976. She was a homemaker and a clerk for Hooks Drug Stores in Columbia City and Fort Wayne for many years.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Karen (Robert) Ballard of Fort Wayne, Linda (Christopher) Douglas, Cedar Park, TX and 1 son Steven (Margaret) Johnson, Goodlettsville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Chad (Gina) Johnson, Brett Wentz, Brook (Alexander) Sleder, Ryan (Chassidy) Johnson and Shelby Douglas; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Betty Gaylord, Cromwell, Tacy Ellen Kellogg, Greensboro, NC and Mary Skinner, Albion.She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Phyllis Joan Johnson and 2 brothers, Robert Eugene and Paul Baker.
At Mrs. Johnson's request, there will be no visitation or services.Burial will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home.Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Johnson to the Whitley County Humane Society % DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN 46725.
