Lois V. Plew, 87, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born December 21, 1927 in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of John Peter and Martha Ellen (Petenbrink) Clark. She was the youngest of 12 children.
While working in Washington D.C. during WWII, Lois met Roger Plew, who was serving in Warrenton, Va. The two were married on January 25, 1947 in Cumberland, Md.After the service, he moved the two of them back to Columbia City where she was a homemaker and for 19 years, she and her family owned Corn Crib Antiques.Besides antiques, she enjoyed traveling, golfing, and entertaining.Lois was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.
Survivors include her children, Randy Plew, Shari (Tom) Wilcoxson and Tami (Jerry Wheatley) Plew, all of Columbia City; grandchildren, Trisha (Brent) Hinen, Troy (Michelle) Wilcoxson, Brian Davis, DeLois (Steve) Stallman, Patrick (Stevie) Plew and Logan Plew; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger in 2001; and 11 siblings, MaryHorchler, Erma Rice, Samuel Clark, Ida Schadt, Clyde Clark, Carl Clark, Viola LaFlame-Fernandez , John Clark, Edna Swan, Orville Clark and Melvin Clark.
Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Plews memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Camp Whitley i.c.o. Whitley County Community Foundation. Private services were held and Lois will be buried next to her husband at North Webster Cemetery.
