Louis Mosley

June 26, 1942 — November 9, 2019

On June 26, 1942, Louis Alfred Mosley, Sr. and Christine (Cherry) Menasion welcomed into the world, Louis Alfred Mosley Jr. in Houston, Texas. At a young age, Louis's mother re-married and James Menasion became his father figure. With James being in the military, Louis spent several years living in Germany and Oklahoma before moving to New Jersey. He attended several schools and would graduate from New Jersey Middletown High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army and would eventually move to the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. With being a gifted mechanic, he was sent to a mechanical school to become a certified diesel mechanic and received his associate degree from El Paso Community College.

While drinking coffee at a local Denny's, Louis spotted a waitress working. It took a little time of winning her heart over, but he eventually did. Trudy K. Gay had moved with some friends from Whitley County, Indiana to Colorado and after dating, she convinced Louis to move back to Indiana with her and the two were married on August 10, 1976 by the Rev. Graham L. Kleespie at her parents' residence. Trudy thought her hometown would be a great and safe environment to raise his sons, Michael and Neal and a few years later welcomed their youngest son, Aaron into their lives.

After moving to Columbia City, Indiana, Louis continued to work as a diesel mechanic in North Manchester before working for the City of Columbia City and then took a job with Coupled Products, retiring in 2008. Even though he was a hard worker, he still found time for his family and friends. He enjoyed camping trips and taking his sons fishing. They traveled to various states and visited places where he grew up and had family living at. He loved cars, fishing, gardening or anything that involved being outdoors. In his younger years he even had been a backup drummer for the group, Bobby Fuller 4 Band.

Louis had a soft heart and was a very loving man in his own way. He had several close friends to him that he considered to be family since a lot of his family lived in several states. On the morning of Saturday, November 9, 2019, they were all sadden when they heard the news that Louis Alfred Mosley Jr., 77, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away at his home with his wife and sons by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Trudy Mosley; sons, Michael Mosley and Aaron (Lindsay) Mosley, both of Columbia City; granddaughter, Trinity Mosley; sisters, Patricia DeClassis of Pompano Beach, Florida, Ann (Richard Barclay) Layson of Simla, Colorado and Terry Howard of Kiowa, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Neal Franklin Mosley; and sister, Sue Brigham.
