LYNN ELWOOD KISSINGER

May 13, 1936 — September 29, 2012

Lynn E. Kissinger 76, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 9:25 a.m. Saturday September 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Fort Wayne, the son of Walter Olin and Viola May (Solt) Kissinger.

He spent his childhood in Fort Wayne graduating from South Side High School with the Class of 1954. He then earned an Associate's Degree at Purdue University. On August 23, 1958 he married Judith L. Garman in Fort Wayne. He served in the United States Army from November 17, 1958 and was honorably discharged on October 12, 1960. He was a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service in Fort Wayne for 38 years. In 1971, he and his family moved to the Kissinger Family Farm in Columbia City. He was a former member of Waynedale Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith L. Kissinger, Columbia City; 5 children, Phil Kissinger, Columbia City, Jeff (Lisa) Kissinger, Columbia City, Cindy (Jim) Cormany, Columbia City, Brad (Teresa) Kissinger, Kimmell and Doug (Chris) Kissinger, Larwill; 6 grandchildren, Josh (Kim) Kissinger, Audra (Eli) Stangland, Tyler and Seth Kissinger, Bailey Kissinger, Jacob Cormany and Chasidy Kissinger; 3 step grandchildren, Vincent Longacre, John and Kayla Leininger. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Jackie Owen Kissinger.

Private family funeral services will be held Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home with Pastor David Arnold officiating. Committal service and burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial bequests may be given in Mr. Kissinger's memory to the Columbia City United Methodist Church Building Fund.
