Mae M. Ray, 94, of Kimmell, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Golden Living Center, Mishawaka. Born September 7, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI., she was the daughter of Herbert Knuth and Ida (Cohen) Murrell.
She attended school in the Lakeland, Florida School System. Mae had lived in Florida and Illinois before moving to Noble County where she had lived on Smalley Lake. She worked in the food service department of the Veteran's Hospital, retiring in 1987 after 20 years of service. She was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary, Wolf lake. She loved her family and loved to fish.
She is survived by her sons, Paul (Linda) Houseman, Guerry (Vicky) Houseman and Michael (Beth) Houseman; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud Ray; son, Burt Houseman; and an infant son, Steven Houseman.
A gathering of family and friends will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive,Columbia City. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Her funeral service may also be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney-Grimes Live. Burial will take place at Thorn Cemetery.
