MARGE J. CHIDESTER

July 23, 1925 — May 12, 2011

Marjorie J. Marge Chidester, formerly of Fort Wayne, Ind., and currently a resident of Sarasota, Fla., died on Thursday, May 12, 2011 while visiting her son in Maine.Born on July 23, 1925, she was the daughter of Charles V. and Carrie E. (Gallogly) David.

She attended Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne graduating with the Class of 1943.On December 28, 1946 she married John J. Chidester in Fort Wayne.Mrs. Chidester spent the majority of her life in Fort Wayne until moving to her home in the Columbia City area in 1978.In 1998, she returned to Fort Wayne before moving to Sarasota, Fla. in September of 2002.A homemaker, wife and mother her entire life, she bred and raised AKC Doberman Pinschers.She was a member of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Fort Wayne and the Doberman Pinscher Club of America.

She is survived by her son, Dean J. (Christine) Chidester of Eliot, ME; grandsons, Aaron J. Chidester and Samuel D. Chidester both of Eliot, ME.She was preceded in death by her parents;husband, John Jerome Chidester;sisters, Mary Catherine Roehling and Louise Osmun; and brother, William David.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6700 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, Ind with calling 1 hour prior.Pastor John Gardner of Plymouth Congregational Church of Christ officiating.Memorials in memory of Mrs. Chidester can be made to the Fort Wayne Animal Shelter or the ASPCA.Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City Ind.
