MARIE C. CLARK

Marie C. Clark, age 90, of Columbia City, Ind. passed away at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Saint Anne Home and Retirement Community, Fort Wayne. Born on March 6, 1921 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, she was the daughter of William and Minnie (Meier) Meyer.

She was raised in Munich until she was 5 years old, when her family came to America and made Fort Wayne their home. Following her marriage to A. Laverne Clark on October 4, 1940 in Whitley County she and Mr. Clark established their dairy farm in Whitley County. She went to St. John's Elementary Lutheran School, Fort Wayne and graduated from the former Central High Scool, Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker and member of the Saturn Christian Church and is an honorary member of the Home Demonstration Club of Whitley County and Whitley County NEO where she served as an officer.

Survivors include her 4 children, Carol L. Nierman of Tempe, AZ, Gary (Nancy) Clark of Enon, OH, Linda (Steve) Shoup of Fort Wayne and Duane A. (Deborah) Clark of Columbia City; sister, Elaine Schuchhardt of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.Marie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, A. Laverne Clark on December 16, 1989, son-in-law, Earl Nierman and brother, William Meyer.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Blanchard and Pastor Russell Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Clark to Saint Anne Home and Retirement Community or Whitley County Humane Society.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
