Michael Hackworth, 50, of South Whitley, passed away unexpectedly in route to Lutheran Hospital from his home at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Born March 30, 1970 in Whitley County, he was the son of Ellis B. and Alice (Goff) Hackworth.
Mike attended Whitko High School. On June 6, 1998 he married Katrina (Ray) Harrison. Mike had drove for CWC for over 10 years and currently was driving for Universal Trucking. He loved watching football and NASCAR and enjoyed being with his family, tinkering around in his garage and collecting signs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Katrina Hackworth; mother, Alice Hackworth; son, Allen (Cami Schnelker) Hackworth; daughters, Savanha (Bradley Poor) Hackworth, Shari (Craig Anderson) Harrison and Kassee (Austin Esterline) Harrison; grandchildren, Brayden Anderson and Addison Anderson; sisters, Lynn (Jimmy) Mullins and Roni (Ruben) Rodriguez; and brother, Tip (Amy) Hackworth. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis B. Hackworth; and nephew, Christopher Mullins.
A gathering of family and friends will be 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive,Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with limited seating. The funeral service may also be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live.
