Mildred Midge Collier

August 11, 1934 — December 10, 2014

Mildred Midge Collier, 80, of Larwill, Ind., passed away at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. Born on August 11, 1934 in Cumberland, Ky., she was the daughter of James and Lillie (Estep) Bush.

She grew up in Kentucky and married Roy Howard Collier on July 6, 1950 in Clintwood, Va. After he was discharged from military service they moved to Detroit, Mich.It was in 1956 that they moved to Whitley County. In 1985, Midge retired from Precision Plastics. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved everyone and would always be there for someone in need.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Roy Collier; daughters, Brenda Duty of Pierceton and Karen Brandel of Larwill; son, Glen (Connie) Collier of Columbia City; sister, Jean (Ron) Short of Kempton; brother, Roy Nease, Jr. of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bush and Lillie Nease; son, Robert Lee Collier; daughter, Deborah Ivy; brothers, Glen, Linza and Gilbert Bush; sister, Beulah Holloman; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.Memorials may be given in memory of Midge to Riley Childrens Foundation.
