Neva Rose Harris

March 22, 1931 — March 16, 2022

Neva Rose Harris, 90, of Larwill, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 after an extended stay at Miller's at Oak Pointe. On March 22, 1931 Neva was born in Troy Township of Whitley County in an old log cabin near Troy Cedar Lake to Charles A. and Thelma (Monroe) Bills. She had four brothers and one sister.

In January of 1949, she married Phil Hull and he passed in August of 1954. In April of 1958, Neva married Kenneth "Buck" Harris. He preceded her in death in September of 1971. Neva began her work career at Blue Bell in Columbia City. For nearly 20 years, Neva worked at the Warsaw K-Mart and after retiring helped out with Passages in Columbia City.

Neva enjoyed gardening and had beautiful flower gardens everywhere. She loved spending the whole day weeding and digging. Many people stopped to admire her yard. She also loved to decorate her yard for the holidays throughout the year. Her yard would look like a wonderland at night. She was also an avid traveler. She traveled all over the United States and to many other countries. She loved to talk about her trips and getting her passport stamped.

Above all though, Neva's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her children, Steven (Laura) Hull, Arden Hull both of Larwill, Patricia Gamble of Bear Lake, Robert (Sue) Hull of Columbia City and Rhonda (Brad) Walker of Scottsburg; stepchildren, Jackie (Tim) Smith, Kenneth (Linda) Harris Jr. and Tom (Kathy) Harris; sisters-in-law Betty Bills and Pat Bills; brother-in-law, Ted Geiger; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and expecting four more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents and both husbands, Neva was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald Bills, Larry Bills, Paul Bills and Les Bills; sister, Margarie Geiger; daughter-in-law, Diana Hull; son-in-law, Steve Gamble; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bills and Jeanette Bills.

The family would like to thank the staff at Miller's at Oak Pointe for the wonderful care and love she received while there. You were a comfort to us all.
