Nila A. Bennett

Nila A. Bennett, 95, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Parkview Whitley Hospital. Born March 23, 1927 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Archie Allen and Ruth Amanda (Beers) Scott.

She graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1946. She began working at the Blue Bell factory. On August 6, 1949, she married Charles G. Bennett in Kosciusko County. After having children, Nila was a homemaker and helped with the family farm in rural Noble County. For a few years in the 70's, Nila also was a Custodian for Smith Green Community Schools.

Nila is survived by her son, Robert (Deb) Bennett; daughter, Karen (Chester II) Zorn; daughter-in-law, Carol Bennett; brother, Robert (Sina) Scott; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Aside from her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bennett on Sept. 22, 2002; son, Stephen Bennett; and brothers, Joe Scott, Harold Scott and John Scott.

A graveside service will be 11 am Friday, May 27, 2022 at Christian Chapel Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in memory to Parkview Whitley Hospice.
