Nina Grant, age 87, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 6:40 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, IN. Born March 26, 1924 in Whitley County, IN, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Lucille (Weeks) Pressler.

A lifetime Whitley County resident, she graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1942. On December 20, 1943 she married Jack Grant. For 40 years, she worked at Gates Law Office, Columbia City, retiring in November, 2004. A member of First Church of God, she faithfully taught the 2-3 year old children in Bible Class for over 50 years and she recently attended Columbia City Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son, Rickie L. Grant; granddaughter, Dawn (Mike) Bockelman of Columbia City; 6 great-grandchildren, Grant and Greg Bockelman, Seth Lehman, Blain, Zaque, and Maci Pietryga. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Jack Grant and son, Terry E. Grant.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the funeral home with Ben Gates III officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Grant's memory to Columbia City Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
