Patty J. Jones, 85, of Hamilton, Ind., passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Lakeland Care Center, Angola. Born September 10, 1931 in Covington, Ky., she was the daughter of Carl R. and Pearl G. (Smail) Freyhof.
She moved from Kentucky to Fort Wayne, to Garrett, onto Angola and to Hamilton. She graduated from South Side High School with Class of 1949. On January 16, 1954 she married Wilbur Lee Jones. Along with being a homemaker, she worked in food service at Tri-State College between 1986 and 1998. She had been a member of Bread of Life in Garrett and Hamilton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Eric L. (Mary Beth) Jones of Chandler, Ariz., Keith A. (Adelle) Jones of Mesa, Ariz., Timothy E. (Nancy) Jones of Frankfort, John P. (Dawn) Jones of Ft. Wayne and Michael P. (Tina) Jones of Angola; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kevin Jones; and brother, William Freyhof.
Visitation is 2 -3:45 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with her funeral at 4 p.m. Chaplin Cheryl Scmidt will be officiating.
