Patty A. Starkey, 81, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN. Born December 10, 1939 in Wolf Lake, she was the daughter of Raymond and Verda (Fry) Hoffman.
She attended Coesse High School and was a lifelong resident of Whitley County. On July 9, 1966, she married David Lee Starkey. She worked at Blue Bell for 15 years, Indiana Knit Company and was a licensed insurance agent helping her husband for many years beginning in 1987. They also began a business with Cyclops Lures and Tackle in 1997 for many years as well.
Survivors include her sons, Christine (wife of Dennis) Palmer; Jeffrey (Ana) Starkey, David (Laura) Starkey, Greg (Kristin) Starkey; daughter, Michelle (James) Cull; brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Hoffman and Marsha (wife of Robert) Hoffman; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dave; son Dennis Palmer; brothers, Jerry Hoffman, Richard Hoffman, and Robert Hoffman; sister-in-law Carol Hoffman and grandson, Joshua Nobbe.
Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday February 20, 2021 at the funeral home with Devin Reed officiating the service. It may be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live . Burial will take place at Christian Chapel Cemetery.
