Paul Charles Bills, 85, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at Bethlehem Woods, Fort Wayne. Paul was born on October 11, 1932 in Etna-Troy Township, Whitley County, the son of Charles Alfred and Thelma Odetta Campbell Bills.
Paul attended Troy Center School and Larwill High School. He then served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Betty J. Dalton on July 22, 1960 in Columbia City by Rev. Graham L. Kleespie. After he returned from the military, Paul spent his adult lifetime in Whitley County. He worked at a local service station, then drove truck for Whitley County Highway Department for 18 years, 8 of those years he was a supervisor. His memberships include the Eagles Lodge #1906, VFW Post and American Legion Post #98 all in Columbia City.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty J. Bills, Columbia City; 1 son, Dennis Eugene Bills, Columbia City; 2 daughters, Nova Jill (David) Richards, Bradenton, FL and Laurie (Wayne) Bills LaRue Caudill of Columbia City; 1 brother, Leslie N. (Pat) Bills, Columbia City and 1 sister Neva R. Harris, Larwill; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Randy Bills, 1 granddaughter, Cora M. LaRue, 2 brothers, Larry and Gerald Bills and 1 sister, Marjorie Geiger.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 2-6:00p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, A Life Storey Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the funeral home with Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus, officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City, with Graveside Military Rites conduct by the Korean War Military Honor Guard.
