Paul K. Geisleman

November 22, 1935 — September 19, 2018

A dedicated, loving, and patient man are just a few ways to describe Paul Geisleman. A few historical events that occurred in 1935 would include: Babe Ruth hit the last home run of his career, the Hit Parade began on NBC, the Boulder (known as Hoover) Dam was completed, and on November 22, 1935, Everett H. and Arta Belle (Cox) Geisleman welcomed the birth of Paul K. Geisleman in Whitley County.
As a child, Paul would go on walks with his brothers, who would go way ahead of him, only to jump out and scare him. He would later enjoy doing the same thing to his own children. Paul also took part in 4-H activities in his youth.
Paul attended Arcola High School, where he met his future wife Pauline and graduated with the Class of 1954. On March 5, 1955 Paul married Pauline E. Myers. He worked at Essex for 9 years and retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne, with 27 years of service. Paul also built houses on the side and was a member of Washington Center United Methodist Church.
Paul was a very good father, enjoyed playing baseball with his kids, along with taking trips and camping whenever he could. He always had an open door to family and friends, making you feel at home, and accepted everyone no matter what the situation was.
Paul frequently took his kids and their babysitter to various places and events, but always made time to have a sitter watch the kids so he and Pauline could do things together as well. In an effort to show how he cared for his family, Paul built three new homes over the years for them to live in.
One Father's Day a few years back Paul and Jeff caught a six pound catfish along with several other fish. Paul said that was the biggest and most fish he had ever caught before.
Paul was known to watch comedy shows, westerns, and war movies. He enjoyed listening to country music and artists such as Nat King Cole, Eddy Arnold, and Patsy Cline, but most importantly, listening to his wife of 63 years, Pauline, whom he called beautiful every day, sing to him.
Paul will be missed, but certainly not forgotten in the minds and hearts of those who knew and loved him.
