Paula R. McClain

Paula R. McClain, 50, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Parkview Hospital. Born January 2, 1971 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Tom and Dixie "Sis" (Clingerman) Nei.

At nine years old, Paula moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she graduated high school. By 19, she moved back to Columbia City and went on to received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Indiana Purdue of Fort Wayne. Paula began her nursing career at The Oaks and worked for the past 25 years as a nurse with Parkview. Several of the years were at Parkview Whitley in the O.B. and most recently at Parkview Huntington.

Family meant the most to Paula. She was the happiest when her family was around her and she adored her grandchildren. She found relaxation in fishing and could fish all day. She enjoyed camping, playing family games and singing karaoke. Paula will be remembered for being loving and her great sense of humor.

Paula is survived by her daughters, Kim  Free, Haylea (Trace Wallace) Free, Brooklyn (Lance Tyler) McClain and Maddilyn McClain; grandchildren, Cambreigh and Oaklinn; and brothers, Jeff Nei, Blake Nei, Dave Nei and Mark Nei. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ronda Allen.

Visitation will be 10 to 11:45 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
