RACHEL LILA-JANE SHEETS

Rachel Lila-Jane Sheets, 28, of Churubusco, IN, passed away at 1:18 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She was born on February 25, 1984 in Columbia City, IN, the daughter of Rodney Clayton Sheets and Jane Ellen (Fry) Goldwood.

She has spent her entire lifetime in Whitley County. She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2002. She was baptized and attended Oak Grove Church of God, Columbia City. She received her associates degree in cosmetology from Ravenscroft Beauty College, Fort Wayne. She was first employed at Fiesta Hair Salon, then for the past 2 years she was a hairstylist and nail technician with Exotic Nails and Hair, Columbia City. She recently earned her motorcycle endorsement and was a member of ABATE.

She is survived by her 2 sons; Zavier Zickafoose, 6 years old and Zander Roberson, 4 years old, both of Churubusco; mother, Jane E. (Max L. II) Goldwood, Columbia City; father, Rodney C. (Shelby) Sheets, Columbia City; 2 sisters, Melissa R. (Trent Pease) Stidams and Joslyn R. (Michael) George, both of Columbia City, brother, Connor C. Sheets, Columbia City; step sister, Dana (Lyle) Baron, Columbia City; grandparents, Carl E. Sheets, Marilyn and Roger Fry, Max and Sharon Goldwood all of Columbia City; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Elizabeth Sheets, great-grandmother Lila Schlotterback and cousin, Adam Kolb.

Visitation will be held from 2-6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Johnson of Oak Grove Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Thorn Cemetery, Ormas. Memorial gifts may be given in Rachel's memory to her children's educational fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
