Ralph T. Clark, age 71, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor, Inc., Columbia City, IN. Born on June 2, 1936 in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, IN he was the son of James S. and Alice H. (McLaughlin) Clark.A lifetime Whitley County resident, he graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1954. On June 23, 1956 he married Gwendolyn M. Johnson at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Columbia City, IN and after his marriage, he lived in Laud, IN for 15 years. In 1972, they moved to their present home in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, IN. Since 1956, he was an employee of Conrail Railroad and since 1972 was a railroad clerk, retiring in 1995 with 42 years of service. A general farmer, he enjoyed wood working in his leisure time. His memberships included St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Moose Lodge of Goshen and a railroad retirement group.Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gwendolyn M. Clark of Columbia City, IN; 4 children, Bradley T. (Joleen) Clark, Brenda J.(Kraig) Schlosser, Brian R. and Brett A. Clark all of Columbia City, IN; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers, James Robert Clark of Columbia City, IN and Francis J.(Barb) Clark of Brookfield, MO; 2 sisters, Margaret Nusbaum of Fort Wayne, IN and Mary Agnes (Gerald) Johnson of Arcola, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2008 with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. with Father Cyril Fernandes presiding at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Sarrazine officiating. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Clark to masses at St. Catherine's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
