Richard A. Rose

Richard A. Rose age 82 of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at 6:13 am on Thursday March 17, 2022, at Sage Bluff Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.  Born on August 14, 1939, in Sturgis, MI, he was the son of Arno and Sylvia (Weiss) Rose.

Richard attended Springfield Township High School and graduated with the Class of 1957.  He also attended DeVry Technical Institute, Chicago.  Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce.  On November 26, 1970, he married Ema Lou Ellen Ness at Hope Lutheran Church, Coesse.

Richard worked for Weiss Trucking in Mongo then worked at General Electric, Fort Wayne for 30 years until his retirement in 1996.

Richard was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Coesse, Tri-State Mopar Car Club, and volunteered for IOPO, now Indiana Donor Network.  He also enjoyed tinkering on his 1969 Charger and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Ema Lou Rose of Fort Wayne; children Christine (Aaron) Bentley and Michael Rose, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Maggie Bentley and Joe Bentley, both of Fort Wayne; brother Ronald (Star) Rose of Wolcottville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Tuesday March 22, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 pm at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Funeral services for Richard will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday March 23, 2022, at the funeral home, with Military Honors rendered by American Legion Post #241, Waynedale.

Burial in Union Township Cemetery, Coesse.
