Richard “Dick” Kohne, 79, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 14, 2022 at his home. Born August 23, 1942 in Decatur, he was the son of Leon and Aletha (Junk) Kohne.
He graduated from Central Catholic High School with the class of 1960. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 until 1964, then went on to further his education at IVY Tech with an Associate Degree in Robotics. On April 12, 1979, he married Beverly (Kirkman) Radosevich. He worked for Kohne’s Fish Worms and then worked at International Harvester for 30 years retiring in 2002. After retirement Richard worked at Handshoe’s Salvage. Some of his hobbies were woodworking and helping others.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Kohne; daughter, Karla (Todd) Parker; son, Jon (Michelle) Radosevich; grandchildren, Austin, Jacob, Andrew and Logan; sisters, Ruthie and Rita; brother in-law Gerald Kirkman; nephews, Mark, Curt, Luke and Todd; former son in-law, Craig Wheeler; his beloved dog Princess; and very close family, Larry and Kim Handshoe and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, 2 sisters, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
Visitation will be 1-5 pm Sunday, February 20, 2022 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home 600 Countryside Dr. Columbia City. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Burial with take place at South Park Annex Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his memory to Humane Shelter of Whitley County.
