Robert A. Emmert

Robert A. Emmert, age 70, of Branson, MO passed away at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home. Born on November 18, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Denton B. and Mary K. (Keith) Emmert.

He graduated from Dearborn High School, Dearborn, MI with the Class of 1965, received a B.A. from Alma College, Alma, MI in 1969 and his M.S. from Pittsburg State University, KS IN 1976. On July 30, 1977 he married Carolyn Sue (Grimes) Cripe in North Webster, at their home. He grew up in Dearborn Michigan, lived in North Webster, Indiana from 1977 till 1985 when he moved to Fort Wayne where he resided from 1985 till 1994. From 1994 until 2010 he resided in Middlebury when he moved with his wife to Branson. MO.

He taught at DeKalb High School, Auburn, IN from 1973-1975 and again from 1977-1980, Magnavox Corp. in Fort Wayne from 1984-1989, General Electric in Fort Wayne from 1989-1994, Patrick Industries/Bristol Laminating from 1999 until 2008. He and his wife, Carolyn were co-owners of Carobob Concessions of Middlebury for 7 years, from 2002-2009. He was desk clerk for the Holiday Inn Express on Highway 76 in Branson since October 2013. He was a member of Middlebury Optimist Club and formerly served as President of the Middlebury Park Association.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Emmert of Branson, MO; sister, Lois Virginia (Don) Otero of Lafayette, CO; brothers, George F. (Jill) Emmert of Huntington, IN; John W. Emmert of Auburn, WA; Ron W. (Jan) Emmert of Commerce Township, MI; son, Scott A. (Jill) Cripe of Ft. Collins, CO; 5 grandchildren, Natalie, Elise and Audrey Magnus of Chicago, Caleb and Caitlin Cripe of Ft. Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Michelle "Shelly" R. Magnus.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. and Sunday, December 2, 2018 and 1-3 p.m. at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury, IN. Graveside and committal services will follow at 4 pm Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Mock Cemetery, County Road 850 E, North Webster, IN with Eugene Bontrager and Dr. Norman Miller, officiating. Memorial gifts may be given in Bob's memory in lieu of flowers to the Boys and Girls Club of Middlebury, 57805 Northridge Drive, Middlebury, IN 46540. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
