Robert E. Tinsley

May 4, 1944 — November 23, 2016

Robert E. Tinsley, 72, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away at 5:46 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home. Born May 4, 1944 in Marion, he was the son of William and Reby Tinsley.



Bob had owned and operated his own automotive repair garage off Hanna Street in Ft. Wayne, had been a co-owner of American Eagle Detective Agency and drove taxi cabs in the Ft. Wayne area for over 15 years. He enjoyed working on cars, being a woodworker and tinkering around with items to just see how the mechanics of the items worked inside. He enjoyed watching TV including shows of Red Skeleton, Bonanza, Dukes of Hazards and watching wrestling with his son. He was a collector of eagles and when he was healthier, he enjoyed riding motorcycles.



Survivors include his children, Mike (Tami Kruse) Tinsley, of Ft. Wayne; Michelle Burgo, of Ft. Wayne, Bobby (Amanda) Tinsley, of Farmland, Andy Tinsley, of Gettysburg, Pa. and Marie (Nick) Walters-Singh, of Muncie; former wife, Pam Tinsley; and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Sabra Tinsley.



Visitation is from 9-10:45 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with his funeral service starting at 11 a.m. Memorial gifts may be given in his memory towards final expenses, in care of DeMoney-Grimes.
