Roberta Reynolds, 76, of Columbia City, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born May 8, 1943 in Wolf Lake, she was the daughter of Bert E. and Lova I. (Bashore) Helblig.
She attended Columbia City Joint High School and on August 5, 1961 she married Marvin L. Reynolds. They made their home in Whitley County, moving to their home in Columbia City in August of 1995. Roberta was a dedicated wife and mother. She had worked at Haffner's Dime store in the mid 1970's through the early 1980's and had worked at a locally owned ceramic shop.
Roberta loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She found relaxation by crocheting, enjoyed listening to music and playing bingo. Roberta was a very social person and volunteered working the local voting poles in Columbia City.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Reynolds, of Columbia City; sons, Mike (Cindy) Reynolds, of Fort Wayne and Mark Reynolds, of South Whitley; brother, John Helblig, of Huntington; sisters, Edna (Mark) Meyer, of Columbia City, Cheryle Sexton, of Tennessee and Judy (Ross) McBride, of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Bradly (Holly) Reynolds and Trisha Reynolds; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kira and Addelyn Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2012; brothers, Bill Helblig and James Helblig; sisters, Delores Gilliam and Nancy Lakey; and an infant child.
A gathering of family and friends will be 12-1 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
