Roger Herman Tucker, age 79, of Columbia City, IN, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife and daughters, Amy and Christelle, by his side at 7:25 am on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his residence. Born September 17, 1941 in Ligonier, he was the son of Herman and Irene (Carter) Tucker.
Roger attended Albion High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. He proudly served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army. On July 28, 1988, he married Rose Gawthrop. Roger worked for Porterfield Distribution as a Plant Manager and then worked at Reelcraft as a Purchasing Agent until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of Barnstormers and enjoyed building and flying remote control airplanes, in addition to watching FOX News.
Roger was a very witty, ornery, loving, and caring man, known for his dry humor. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife Rose Tucker; children Amy (Jim) Stevens, John (Melanie) Snepp, Jr. Kimberley Callison, Christelle (Chad) Snyder; several grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death son, Chad Tucker and grandchild Camdyn Lynn Snyder
Private funeral services will be held at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance, but it may be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live .
Burial will take place in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City, with Military Honors rendered by the Whitley County Korean War Veterans.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Roger to his final expenses. Donations may be mailed to DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
