Rollyn LeRoy Solt, 79, of Lakeland, FL, passed away at 9:02 p.m. on Friday November 6, 2015 at his residence. Born on September 21, 1936 in Fort Wayne, IN he was the son of Ralph and Mary (Cotton) Solt.
Rollyn graduated from Hoagland High School with the Class of 1955 and then attended IBM Business School for two years. He was a lifetime resident of Fort Wayne until 2009 when he moved to Lakeland, FL. Rollyn began his career in data processing in 1958 and moved into sales in 1972. In 1976 be founded Solt Enterprises Inc., where he sold business forms as well as computer and data processing materials.
Rollyn served in the National Guard from 1953-1961 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954-1966. He attended Calvary United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, served as Fire Chief of Poe Fire Department, and President of Heritage High School Band Boosters. He was also a board member of Crystal Lake United Methodist Church and Imperial Manor Mobile Home Park, both in Lakeland FL.
Survivors include his daughters LuAnn Solt and Jo Lyn Hensley both of Carmel, IN; grandchildren Catrina and Boone Hensley and Dakota Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Sylvia Solt. In accordance with Mr. Solts wishes funeral services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rollyn to the Poe Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements by DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive Columbia City, IN.
