RONALD L. SHOEMAKER

January 18, 1955 — February 18, 2014

Ronald L. Shoemaker, 59, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Born on January 18, 1955, Ron was the son of Harold Bud Shoemaker and Sandra (Moore) Dujardin.

He was raised in Osceola and graduated from Penn High School with the Class of 1973. In 1985 Ron moved to Columbia City. On November 1, 2003, Ron married Diana McKinney in Columbia City. He was a Superintendent, building bridges for Pioneer Associates for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. Ron enjoyed being outdoors, watching birds and riding his Goldwing.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Diana Shoemaker; children, Jason (Amanda) Shoemaker of Larwill, Richard (Casandra Hoffman) Shoemaker of Columbia City and Jaime (Dane) Peppler of Columbia City; sisters, Laura (Gary) Nemeth of Osceola, Beverly Jo Rutherford of California and Beth Ann (Randy) Staggs of Pell City, Ala.; grandchildren, Jordan, Erin, Taylor, Avery and Mason Shoemaker and Dylan Peppler. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Peyton Lee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Nolt Cemetery.
