Rosalie A Hilsmier

August 16, 1938 — November 8, 2014

Rosalie A. Hilsmier, 76, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake.Born on August 16, 1938 in Payne, Ohio she was the daughter of Harry and Maxine (Lee) McPherson.

She graduated from Payne High School with the Class of 1956.She worked at Magnavox and Raytheon in Fort Wayne and Columbia City.Rosalie was baptized in the Lutheran Church.She was a member of the Columbia City Fraternal Order of Eagles #1906.Rosalie was a gardener and loved working in her flower beds and vegetable gardens, planting anything that had a seed.She also loved lilacs, four-leafed clovers, western films, and playing Bingo.Rosalie was also a very loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Rosalie is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Scott) Wilkinson of Columbia City, Rebecca (Roger) Fitzpatrick of Claypool, Susan (Paul Andorfer) Helms of Warsaw, Judith (Scott) Walter of Pierceton; mother, Maxine (Richard) Burwell of New Haven; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Rosalie is Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the funeral home.Burial will follow in the South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City.Memorial contributions in memory of Rosalie may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
