ROSEMAY L. LOWEN

May 5, 1933 — March 12, 2012

Rosemary L. Lowen, 78 of Columbia City passed away at 11:00 p.m. Monday at Millers Merry Manor Nursing Home, Columbia City. She was born on May 5, 1933 in Muncie, IN the daughter of Kenneth W. and Edrie M. (Russell) Carney.

She attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne. She married Howard E. Lowen, Sr. in Fort Wayne on October 4, 1952. She and her family moved from Fort Wayne to Columbia City in 1967. She was a homemaker and member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Howard E. Lowen, Sr., Columbia City; 2 sons, Howard E. (Jody) Lowen, Jr., Columbia City and Jeffery L. (Suzanne) Lowen, Punta Gorda, FL; daughter in law, Gloria Lowen, Columbia City; borther Michael (Carol) Carney, Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren, Taylor (Britt) Lowen, Nathan Lowen, Indianapolis, Gabriel Lowen, Columbia City, Naomi Lowen, Columbia City and Wyatt Lowen, FL and one great grand daughter, Harker Renee Lowen, Columbia City. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Kevin M. Lowen, sister, Sandra Ross and brother, Kenneth Carney.

Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. with services immediately following at 7:00 p.m. at DeMoneyGrimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Sharon Brockhaus, Certified Funeral Celebrant will be officiating. Burial will be at Thorn Cemetery, Noble County. Memorials may be given in Mrs. Lowens memory to either American Cancer Society or Riley Hospital for Children.
