Ross E. Staller of South Whitley, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Huntington, Indiana, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was 74 years old.
Born to Merrill and Emma Lee (Wray) Staller on September 3, 1949, in Peru, Indiana, Ross graduated from Caston High School in 1967 and attended Manchester College. He joined the United States Army, later returning to complete his studies at Manchester College, graduating in 1975.
Ross dedicated 24 years to working at Laketon Refining. He briefly worked at Manchester Foundry before spending the remainder of his career in distribution at DePuy Orthopaedics until his retirement.
On September 17, 1977, Ross married Carlene Gradeless in North Manchester, Indiana. She survives him, along with their five children: Ben (Melanie) Staller of Wadsworth, IL; Macy (Brent) Augustus of South Whitley, IN; Natalie (Chad) Warner of Roanoke, IN; Vanessa (Ryan) Hart of Fort Wayne, IN; and Whitley (Brent) Frye of Huntington, IN. Ross is also survived by 16 grandchildren, his brothers Ray (Cyrena) Staller and George (Betty) Staller, and his sister Nila Staller.
A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Columbia City, Indiana, Ross will be remembered for his faith, dedication to family, and strong work ethic.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, IN. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing one-hour prior at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1190 500 N, Huntington, IN 46750. Burial will follow at South Whitley Cemetery.
