Ruth Marie Linville, age 90, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Wright Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Fairborn, OH. Born August 17, 1918 she was the daughter of Fred and Weltha R. "Goldie" Gebert.Mrs. Linville's formative years were lived on the family farm between Pierceton and Winona Lake in Kosciusko County, Indiana. She moved from there to another farm on 400 West in Whitley County where she lived until 1987 when she moved to Whitley Trailer Court in South Whitley. In July 1996, she moved to the Wright Rehabilitation and Nursing Home to be closer to her son. She received her formal education in the public schools of Kosciusko County, graduating from Pierceton High School with the Class of 1936.In addition to being a homemaker, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Linville was an employee of the Fibre Form Corporation, Columbia City in the 1960's and prior to that she worked for Eckrich Company in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Linville was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and attended both the United Brethren and United Methodist churches. In 1936, she married Frank W. Hoffman who preceded her in death and later she married George Linville who also preceded her in death.She is survived by her son, Wayne Hoffman of Bell Center, OH; 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Glen W. Hoffman, grandsons Michael and Victor Hoffman, sister, Francis Bemont and brother, Ralph Bruce.Visitation will be on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. A graveside service will follow with Pastor Judy Follis officiating at South Park Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Linville to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
